This horrible news just in from the nation of Cumbria:
Beer Can Spillage Closes Motorway.
Luckily, the (Scottish) driver suffered only minor injuries, mostly related to fighting with emergency workers as they attempted to remove him from the vehicle.
And now for the really bad news:
US Daredevil Evel Kneivel Dies.
Front page of the UK-version of BBC News. Take that America. And not the boy-band either.
'"What a showman - that was the part I liked about him the most. Anyone [who] can ride a motorcycle and do tricks - and they usually come off - is pretty much a fool," fellow motorcycle show jumper Bubba Blackwell told the BBC's World Today programme.'
(sigh) I'll never watch someone fail to jump a canyon on a rocket-powered motorcycle again.

Hey, nice to see you're still blogging from time to time. I just caught up a bit. Say "hi" to Jo, and have a good brown ale for me.
Ack! You come to read about my time in the UK, and I'm posting about Evel Kneivel. Sorry. I promise to have a story up about Edinburgh soon(ish). :)
And yes, I shall have a good brown ale for you! There's a nice one called Black Sheep served 'round these parts; rumour has it it was created by the son of a family of vicars who dropped out of seminary and started brewing beer instead.
Must've been Trappist vicars. :)
